All programs/Newcomer entrepreneurs

For newcomers

9 programs
for newcomer entrepreneurs.

If you arrived in Canada in the last few years, two things shape your funding picture: Canadian credit history is thin or missing, and several provincial nominee programs are built for entrepreneurs willing to invest and run a business. The right path depends on whether you are already a permanent resident or arriving as part of an entrepreneur stream.

Common questions

Do I need permanent residence to apply?

For Futurpreneur Newcomer and BDC Newcomer Entrepreneur, yes (PR or citizenship). For provincial nominee entrepreneur streams, no, those streams are designed to lead to PR.

I have no Canadian credit history. Is that a problem?

For the programs in this hub, no. They were built specifically because mainstream banks cannot lend to people with no Canadian credit file. Bring your home-country credit history and references.
