Data quality

The database,
in the open.

Most directories will not tell you when their data was last touched. We do. This page is auto-generated from the live database every time it is built. Everything here is verifiable.

What "verified" means here

Verified means we re-check the program against its official source, confirm it is still open, and confirm the facts that change, the dollar caps and the deadlines, then stamp the date you see on it. It is a source re-check, not a CPA sign-off, and we say so.

  • The freshness numbers on this site are generated from the live data on every build.
  • An automated job re-checks every source URL and snapshots each program’s cap, deadline, and status. We publish the date of the last run rather than promise a cadence. Drift opens a review issue; when a canonical page is gone we fall back to the issuing organization and flag it.
  • Programs that have ended are marked closed and are never recommended, only kept as reference pages.

See the live freshness audit on the data quality page.

Dollar caps confirmed on the live source page

Source URLs reachable

On July 27, 2026 we fetched each source page and checked whether the dollar amount we store actually appears on it. 102 were confirmed; 90 could not be confirmed and went to a review queue. This is correctness, not just whether the link loads. We re-run it and publish the date above, so you can see exactly how fresh this is. We never label a figure confirmed unless it was found as a dollar amount on the official page.

§ 04  ·  What the flags mean

Honesty about
url rot.

Government program pages move and get archived. We re-check URLs on a regular cadence with our verification script. If the original canonical page is gone, we point the link at the issuing organization's homepage instead of a 404. Those programs are flagged with "parent_org_fallback" and the program page shows a hint to verify details before applying.

When a program ends, it is marked closed: it stays as a reference page but is never recommended or matched. Every program shown as active existed at the time of its last verification timestamp.
