A Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation program that supports film and television productions filmed in Northern Ontario. Conditional contributions cover up to 50% of eligible Northern Ontario costs, capped on a tiered basis from $500,000 for budgets up to $5 million, to $1 million for budgets of $5 to $10 million, to $2 million for budgets above $10 million. Applicants must be Canadian-controlled production companies with a distributor or broadcaster commitment, and applications are assessed in competitive rounds.
Review times vary by program, from a few weeks to a few months, so check the official page for its timeline. Grant money is usually paid after you sign a funding agreement, and cost-shared programs often reimburse you once you send proof of what you spent.
