Saskatchewan Value-added Agriculture Incentive

Saskatchewan tax credit for businesses making large capital investments in new or expanded value-added agriculture facilities. The credit starts at 15 percent on capital expenditures of $10 million or more, rising for very large projects. It is claimed over three years after a certificate of eligibility is issued, with carry-forward up to 10 years.

What you'll need

  • Application to the Ministry of Trade and Export Development
  • Capital expenditure plan of at least $10 million
  • Proof the project increases productive capacity
  • SVAI certificate of eligibility once approved

How to apply

  1. 1Confirm your facility meets the value-added agriculture definition
  2. 2Apply to the Ministry of Trade and Export Development before investing
  3. 3Receive a certificate of eligibility
  4. 4Submit the SVAI claim form to the Ministry of Finance
