Nova Scotia funds two supports that help people with disabilities stay employed: technical aids and assistive devices (such as adapted office furniture, speech recognition software, and other equipment) and workplace attendant support for workers with significant disabilities starting a job. The funding follows the employee, so an employer who hires or retains a worker with a disability can have the cost of needed equipment and supports covered. The program is funded through the federal Labour Market Agreement for Persons with Disabilities.
